Discover the History of the Park

Victoria Park is one of Leicester’s oldest parks and it has a fascinating history, but it is very easy to walk right by it without knowing anything about what it once was. Discover more about the architecture and social history of the park, from its use as a racecourse, to the bombing of the pavilion and the creation of the War Memorial, designed by famous architect, Sir Edwin Lutyens.

A Guided Walk

Come along on Saturday the 9th of September at 2pm and take a wonderful walk with a fantastic and knowledgeable blue badge guide,

You can ramble around this beautiful park for a very interesting hour as part of Leicester’s Heritage Open Days and organised by the Story of Parks project .
